An employer may prohibit employees from drinking tea at the workplace. Olga Vladimirova, Headhunter's lawyer, told about this on June 9.

"The company has the right to introduce rules of conduct in the office, including prohibiting drinking tea in the workplace. Such a ban can be established if an employee has the opportunity to leave his workplace for lunch," she told RIA Novosti.

The lawyer stated that if an employee does not have an alternative time for eating, and he is disciplined for violating the ban, then such a move on the part of the employer may be considered illegal. She also recalled that, according to the law, food cannot be eaten in industrial premises, and at individual enterprises there are requirements for the creation of designated dining areas established by sanitary standards.

Denis Tsyplakov, Chairman of the VM-Pravo Bar Association, told Izvestia on June 3 that in conditions of abnormal heat, according to current sanitary standards (SanPiN 1.2.3685-21), employers are required to shorten the working day if the permissible temperature is exceeded, while maintaining full wages for employees.
