Poland, along with its allies, has lifted off pairs of fighter jets on duty in connection with Russia's alleged activity near the Polish border. This was announced on June 9 by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces (AF).

It is specified that all available forces and means of command were involved. In addition to the fighter pairs on duty, air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were put on high alert.

"These actions are of a preventive nature and are being taken to ensure security and monitor the situation in the immediate vicinity of the borders of the Republic of Poland," the agency said in a statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The military personnel's training took into account the armament of the Russian Armed Forces and tactics of operations in the SVO zone.

The Welt newspaper reported on June 5 that the German Air Force had lifted two Eurofighter fighter jets into the sky near the Baltic Sea due to the appearance of a Russian Il-20 military aircraft in the airspace. It was clarified that the IL-20 was flying in international airspace, allegedly without giving an identification signal and radio contact.
