A leak of petroleum products occurred in the Kazachinsky threshold of the Yenisei River in the Krasnoyarsk Territory due to damage to the hull of the ship. This was reported on June 9 in the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"The ship suffered hull damage while traveling downstream with two empty barges. There has been a leak of petroleum products," the press service said in a Telegram channel message.

It is specified that an operational group went to the scene. The investigators have begun conducting procedural checks under Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violations of the rules for handling environmentally hazardous substances"). Additional circumstances of the incident are being established.

On February 9, it was reported that the Koala tanker, carrying 130 thousand tons of fuel oil, sank in the port of Ust-Luga. Later, the governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, said that the ship's engine had failed, resulting in damage to the engine room. He noted that the tanker is moored at the pier, and there is no threat of an oil spill.
