The driver spoke about preventing a disaster on the railway in the Voronezh region

Machinist Alexander Korotkov, who noticed the damage to the railway track and prevented a disaster in the Voronezh region, told Izvestia how he managed it.
As Korotkov notes, while driving, he noticed a red traffic light and made a stop, during which he discovered an explosion in two places on one of the rails.
"I followed [the instructions] with extreme vigilance. I discovered a malfunction of the railway embankment, and then the absence of several fragments of the right rail of the railway track," he says.
The driver reported what he saw to the attendant, the following trains, as well as to the train chief, asking not to let anyone out of the cars.
"We've been taught this, I've been working for 20 years, and we've been taught this for 20 years. The reaction [was] instant. Maybe they taught us for this special occasion," adds Korotkov.
According to him, initially it seemed that what was happening was a dream, but this did not prevent them from reacting to the threat in time.
The railway track on the Evdakovo — Saguny section in the Voronezh Region was damaged on June 5 as a result of an explosive device explosion. According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, tragic consequences were avoided thanks to the actions of the train crew and the driver. On the same day, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
