Militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have again hit the Assumption Cathedral in the city of Rylsk, Kursk region, with a drone. This was announced on June 8 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

He noted that the Ukrainian Nazis continue to fight against Russian shrines, delivering despicable blows.

"As a result of the impact, glass, roof, walls, doors of the main building and bell towers were damaged by shrapnel. Fortunately, there were no casualties!"— Khinstein clarified in his Telegram channel.

The temple of the VVII century has repeatedly been the target of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In December 2024, the Assumption Cathedral was damaged after a militant attack. On the fact of the incident, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). An employee of the cathedral told Izvestia that there was a woman on the premises, but she was not injured.
