- Orban declared the destruction of Hungary and the whole of Europe due to sanctions against the Russian Federation

The European Union (EU) countries should conclude a strategic agreement with Russia and become stronger, rather than impose new sanctions against Moscow. This was announced on June 8 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Anti-Russian sanctions are destroying Hungary and the whole of Europe. We have lost 20 billion euros in three years due to the sanctions. This is a significant amount for Hungary," the politician said in an interview with the French television channel LCI.
Orban added that the EU countries not only encroach on the sovereignty of the community members, but also cannot resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
"The EU is coping poorly with the conflict in Ukraine, and the sanctions policy is also failing. Europe must become stronger in the long run. A strategic agreement with Russia is needed, but only a strong Europe can conclude it," the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
On June 6, Orban noted that the anti—Russian policy being formed by the EU countries is reckless, Hungary and Slovakia are forming an alliance to counter these measures. The politician said that Ukraine's membership in the EU can be prevented if the countries enter into a debate, and also prevent Brussels and the Ukrainian side from bringing a "puppet government" to power in Hungary. The day before, Orban said that EU leaders are focused on fighting Russia and want to deal it a preemptive strike to continue the conflict in Ukraine.
