Fico explained the plans to include only two genders in the Slovak Constitution.

The Slovak Constitution must specify that there are only two genders — male and female, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on June 8.
He noted that he would like to ask the Slovak public, as well as the anti-government and liberal media: what's wrong with officially declaring the existence of only two genders?
"What's wrong with that? What contradicts common sense? If you want someone to feel like a lamp, or a chair, or a helicopter, or a dog, let them feel it. But in the constitution we will see only two genders — male and female," the politician said at a press conference. The broadcast was carried out on the Smer party's Facebook page (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).
As the Prime Minister stressed, it had never been necessary to introduce this provision into the basic law of the state before.
"Today, it seems, such a crazy time has come that we need to introduce into the constitution of the Slovak Republic that one and one are two, and it is for this reason that such a serious amendment to the constitution of the Slovak Republic has appeared," the politician said.
In January, Fico already stated that he intends to consolidate in the Constitution of the republic the provision on the recognition of only two sexes — male and female. In his opinion, this step represents a "return to sanity." He stated that it had long been necessary to do this so that no one would declare themselves "a helicopter, a cat or a dog." He also described US President Donald Trump's approach to gender issues as reasonable.
Earlier, on January 20, during the inauguration, Trump said that the official US policy is to recognize only two genders — male and female.
