Russians won the medal standings of the SAMBO World Cup


On June 8, Russian SAMBO wrestlers won 17 medals (seven gold, four silver and six bronze) on the second day of the World Cup in Yerevan.
Thus, following the results of two days of competition, domestic athletes won the medal standings of the tournament by a solid margin, winning a total of 36 awards (15 gold, 11 silver, 10 bronze).
On the first day of the World Cup, our athletes won 19 medals (eight gold, seven silver and four bronze).
SAMBO wrestlers from Ukraine became the second in the medal standings (11 medals: four gold, two silver, five bronze). Athletes from Armenia are in third place (11 medals: two gold, two silver, seven bronze).
The SAMBO World Cup, supported by Rosneft's general partner and VTB Bank's official partner, was held in Yerevan on June 7-8. Athletes from 18 countries took part in the competition. Russian SAMBO wrestlers competed at the tournament in a neutral status and under the flag of FIAS (International Sambo Federation).
The day before, Russian SAMBO wrestlers were in the lead in the medal standings, winning 19 medals. Then the Russian SAMBO wrestler Vera Lotkova, who became the winner of the World Cup, told Izvestia that, according to tradition, she dedicated the victory to her father, who is in the free zone. She also noted the high level of organization of the competition.
