The head coach of the Italian national football team, Luciano Spalletti, will leave his post after the friendly match with Moldova, which will take place on June 9. This was reported by journalist Nicolo Skira on the social network X (ex. Twitter) with a link to a specialist's statement.

"On Tuesday, I will sign an agreement to terminate my contract with the Italian Football Federation," Spalletti said.

From 2009 to 2014, Spalletti coached Zenit St. Petersburg, with whom he twice became the champion of Russia.

Spalletti led the Italian national team in 2023. Prior to that, he coached Napoli, with whom he became the Italian champion in the 2022/23 season for the first time in 33 years. Over the years, the specialist also worked at Empoli, Sampdoria, Venice, Udinese, where he won the Cup and the Italian Super Cup.

On June 3, Inter Football club announced the resignation of Italian specialist Simone Inzaghi from the post of head coach of the team. The parties terminated the contract by mutual agreement following the meeting. The 49-year-old Italian may head the Saudi Al-Hilal.
