The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the Rylsk substation in the Kursk region, as a result of which the Rylsky district was completely de—energized, and Glushkovsky and Korenevsky were partially de-energized. This was announced on Sunday, June 8, by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.

"The enemy hit the 110 kV Rylsk substation. Due to the disruption, Rylsky district was left without electricity, Glushkovsky and Korenevsky municipalities are also powered by this substation," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Khinstein also assured that as soon as the operational situation allows, the electricity supply will be resumed.

On June 3, it was reported that as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Zaporizhia region, 457 settlements and 600 thousand subscribers were temporarily left without electricity. In addition, socially significant facilities were connected to backup power sources. Later that day, the Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that electricity supply to settlements in the region had been restored.
