12 people were killed in a shooting during prayer in a Yemeni mosque.


An unidentified man staged an attack on a mosque in the village of Karn al-Asad in the Yemeni province of Al-Bayda, 12 people were killed in the incident. This was reported on June 8 by Al Hadath TV channel, citing local sources.
"An armed man suffering from mental disorders killed more than 12 people and injured others on Saturday evening (June 7. — Ed.), after he opened fire indiscriminately in the mosque," the article says.
It is specified that the militant began the attack by shooting at two young men in a nearby grocery store, and then went to the mosque and opened fire on parishioners shortly after the prayer ended.

The perpetrator was arrested an hour and a half after the incident, while the injured were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
