In St. Petersburg, a ninth-grader helped fraudsters steal 4.2 million rubles from a pensioner. This was announced on June 8 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city and the Leningrad region.

It is clarified that the scammers offered an 86-year-old local resident to allegedly declare the money. As a result, she handed over her money savings to the courier. The total damage amounted to 4.2 million rubles.

"A criminal case has been opened on this fact under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud")," the agency's Telegram channel says.

Later, police officers detained a ninth-grader who is suspected of this crime.

Earlier that day, in St. Petersburg, police officers detained a group of fraudsters who hacked pages on the Gosuslugi portal in order to steal money. It was noted that having obtained other people's data, the attackers ordered various goods on marketplaces. After that, the suspects resold them, and divided the money among themselves.
