- The West expressed outrage at Kiev's failure to reach an agreement on the exchange of prisoners.

Basic moral principles are no longer respected by the Ukrainian regime. This was reported to Izvestia on June 8 by Austrian geopolitical analyst Patrick Poppel.
This is how he commented on the refusal of the Ukrainian side to take the bodies of its military.
"Basic moral principles are no longer respected by the Ukrainian regime. This is, of course, a sign of decline, because we have already seen this in other regimes. When the end comes, morality is put aside, and it all comes down to retaining power at all costs," Poppel said.
Based on this situation, many experts conclude that no one comes for the bodies, because then the authorities will have to pay the families of the victims. In addition, such death statistics strongly show the failure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the front.
According to political analyst, retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen, all Ukrainian bodies should be returned home to their families and buried properly.
However, in addition to the dead, Ukraine also refuses to return living prisoners of war.
"I really want to go home, I want to see my wife, my child, my mother, and my family. I wasn't changed. [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky kind of refused the exchange, Ukraine threw us off. I want to ask to be exchanged in the near future," said Ivan Shumsky, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zelensky's latest antics are unlikely to boost morale on the fronts. But suspicions are already creeping in that the Ukrainian leader intends to prolong the conflict with Russia.
Yesterday, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said that the Ukrainian side had unexpectedly postponed indefinitely the reception of the bodies of dead soldiers and the exchange of prisoners of war. He also called on Ukraine to comply with the agreed schedule and fulfill all the agreements that were reached at the second round of negotiations in Istanbul.
