US President Donald Trump has ordered two thousand soldiers of the country's national guard to be sent to Los Angeles amid mass protests over migration raids. The corresponding memorandum was published on the official website of the White House on June 8.

Mass protests in California began after a police raid searching for illegal migrants, as a result of which 45 people were detained. According to Fox News, violent protests broke out after the raid, escalating into clashes between protesters and ICE officers.

"I am calling members and units of the National Guard to federal service ... for the temporary protection of ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement — Ed.) and other employees of the United States government," the memorandum says.

Trump also condemned the inaction of the leadership of the state and local authorities.

"If California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass can't do their jobs, and everyone knows they can't, then the federal government will step in and solve the problem of unrest the way it should be solved!!!" the American leader wrote on his page on the Truth Social network.

The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, in turn, also allowed the possible introduction of marines into the city.

"The Department of Defense will immediately mobilize the National Guard to support federal law enforcement agencies in Los Angeles. And if the violence continues, the active Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized," Hegseth wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to him, the Marines are already on high alert.

On April 18, Reuters reported that a court in the United States had banned the Trump administration from pursuing a new policy that called for accelerated deportation of migrants. On May 3, the American leader said that if the courts in the United States refuse to assist the government in the issue of deportation, the country will come to an end.
