The Interior Ministry gave advice on behavior in a conversation with scammers
When talking to phone scammers, it's best to pretend to be an unsuitable victim, that they've lost interest. This was reported to TASS on June 8 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"To protect yourself from calls from scammers, pretend to be an unsuitable victim so that the scammers lose interest," the agency said.
It is reported that one of the best ways is to fantasize unusual answers to confuse scammers. In addition, the Interior Ministry does not recommend answering calls from unknown numbers.
"Use voice assistants to answer calls," the agency added.
On June 6, the Interior Ministry reported that fraudsters were stealing data about a person using fake work chats they had created. Such schemes are often observed in the fields of education and healthcare. According to the agency, the attackers specifically choose the fields of education and healthcare, as information about employees can often be found on the official websites of educational institutions, hospitals, and polyclinics.
