- A US soldier died while preparing for exercises in Hungary due to an incident with equipment.

An American soldier was killed in an accident that occurred while preparing for exercises near the Croft camp in Hungary. This was announced on June 7 in a press release from the army.
"The loss of Sergeant Cox is a tragedy for all of us. <...> We are in direct contact with his family to learn about the care and support they need during this difficult time," said Colonel Duke Reim, commander of the 2MBCT 101st Airborne Division.
The dead soldier turned out to be 24-year-old Sergeant Aaron Cox, who served as an infantryman in the second mobile combat brigade of the 101st Airborne Division. The Armenian died as a result of injuries sustained from an accident with military equipment.
Cox joined the army in 2021 and arrived at Fort Campbell in 2022 after completing his training at Fort Benning, Georgia. The trip to Hungary was his second business trip.
Additional details of the incident were not disclosed. An accident investigation is underway.
The Bild newspaper reported on June 1 that the military exercises of Russia and NATO, which will take place simultaneously in the Baltic Sea, may cause an increase in tension in the region. The publication noted that what is happening may escalate into a more serious escalation.
