China expressed the opinion that French President Emmanuel Macron had changed his political course and, after unsuccessful threats to Moscow, began to set conditions for Beijing. This was announced on June 7 by the Sohu portal.

"Today, North Korea's behavior near the European territory of Russia poses serious risks for all parties. If China does not want NATO to interfere in the affairs of Southeast Asia and even the whole of Asia, it should explicitly prevent Korea from interfering in European affairs," the portal quoted Macron as saying.

The article drew attention to the inconsistency of the actions of the French leader, who in early 2025 opposed the strengthening of NATO's influence in the Asia-Pacific region, saying that he should not get into a confrontation between China and the United States.

On June 5, Macron called on Brazil and China to put pressure on Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
