In nine regions of Russia, the fifth class of fire risk may be observed in the near future. This was announced on June 8 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
"The fifth fire hazard class is forecast in the coming days in the Northwestern Federal District, these are the Arkhangelsk and Novgorod regions," Vilfand told TASS.
In addition, he added that a large fire hazard is located in the Southern Federal District, the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, as well as in Kalmykia. The forecaster noted that in these regions, the fifth fire hazard class will be fixed until next week inclusive.
In addition, the head of the Hydrometeorological Center clarified that high fire danger will be observed in Dagestan and the Sverdlovsk region, as well as in some territories of the Tomsk Region and the Altai Territory.
He also added that in the Far East, a decrease in the fire danger level is predicted in the near future due to low temperatures and rains.
On June 4, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that the "yellow" weather danger level due to the risk of fires was extended in Moscow until Sunday, June 8. It is specified that a similar warning was announced in the Moscow region.
