The American company August Egg Company is recalling 1.7 million packages of eggs due to the fact that the products may be contaminated with salmonella. This was announced on June 6 by the press service of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

"The August Egg Company of Hilmar, California, is recalling 1.7 million dozen brown organic cage-free and certified brown organic eggs because they may be contaminated with salmonella," the press service said in a statement.

It is specified that the eggs have been distributed to online stores in California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nebraska, Indiana and Illinois since February 3 of this year.

On May 20, NBC News reported that the FDA in the United States announced the recall of Bedner Growers cucumbers due to an outbreak of salmonellosis in several states, which sickened more than 20 people.
