The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia expressed a desire to strengthen military cooperation with the Russian Federation

Strengthening military cooperation is one of the cornerstones in the common allied format of Abkhazia and Russia, the republic's Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits told Izvestia.

"We have a common victory and a common future"

The new president of Abkhazia told Putin about the participation of residents of the republic in the SVR and thanked Russia for its support.

"Strengthening military cooperation is one of the cornerstones in our common allied format. <...> We attach great importance to this. These are issues of the defense capability of a small country, and it is precisely the military treaty with the Russian Federation that has largely removed almost all military and political risks and provides stability and conditions for the sustainable development of our country," he said.

The Defense Ministries of Abkhazia and Russia have been working closely together for a long time, the minister added.
