The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia talked about cooperation with the Union State

Abkhazia is interested in cooperation in the format of a Union State, the republic's Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits told Izvestia.

Taking on Sukhum: trade turnover between Russia and Abkhazia has grown by 60% since 2020

Direct flights between the capitals are expected to open on May 1.

"I believe that it would be a priority interest for us to join the Union State format. This is the amount of cooperation that would satisfy our basic interests. We will definitely contact relevant officials in this direction and think about how to bring positions closer," the minister said.

So far, there has been no significant progress in this direction, Bartsits noted.
