The Russian Defense Ministry told about the exploits of the Russian military in the special operation zone

On June 8, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of the Russian military in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

Thus, the ministry noted the actions of the guard of Private Sergei Polchanov, who, as part of the crew of the Msta-S self-propelled artillery installation, carried out tasks to defeat fortified positions and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). While at the air surveillance point, he discovered an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) heading towards an artillery piece of Russian military personnel.

Having quickly assessed the situation, Polchanov reported to the command about the discovery of a Ukrainian kamikaze drone, and, taking a favorable firing position, opened aimed fire from standard weapons at an aerial target. With well-aimed shots on the approach to the gun, he managed to knock out the UAV, as a result of which it fell to the ground and exploded at a safe distance. Thanks to Polchanov's vigilance and courageous actions, an enemy drone was destroyed, which made it possible to preserve equipment and personnel in the area entrusted to him.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation drew attention to the actions of the guard of Corporal Alexander Dmitrik, who, as part of the evacuation group, performed the tasks of providing medical care and evacuating the wounded in the area of one of the settlements liberated from Ukrainian militants. In an effort to regain control of the village, the enemy fought using mortar fire and artillery, as a result of which several Russian servicemen were injured in various degrees of severity. Dmitrik immediately moved towards the site of the shelling along with the evacuation group.

When he reached the wounded, he gave them first aid and began to evacuate. Moving through the forest belt, Dmitrik discovered an enemy FPV drone. Since there were no shelters for the group nearby, he decided to distract the drone with shots from a standard weapon. When the Ukrainian UAV headed in his direction, the soldier took an advantageous firing position and hit the drone with well-aimed shots, which detonated at a safe distance from the evacuation group. Dmitrik's courage and heroism during the combat mission allowed the group to successfully overcome the route and deliver the wounded to a field hospital.

On June 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that an artillery crew of the 152-millimeter Hyacinth-B howitzer of the Arctic motorized rifle brigade of the Dnepr group of forces destroyed the temporary deployment site of the Leleka UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. It was clarified that the targets were discovered during the planned exploration of the area.
