Investigators searched a hostel in Moscow in the case of illegal migration
Investigators from the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia conducted searches in one of the hostels on Ozernaya Street in Moscow as part of an investigation into the organization of illegal migration. This was reported on June 7 in the press service of the department.
The reason for the criminal case was the information broadcast on the federal TV channel, according to which foreign citizens live in this hostel in violation of migration legislation. The criminal case was initiated under Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration").
"During the search, more than 10 foreign citizens were found in the premises, who were taken to law enforcement agencies to check the legality of their stay in Russia, as well as possible involvement in other offenses," the Telegram channel clarified.
The management of the hostel has been taken to the investigative department for procedural actions. The investigation is ongoing, the department noted.
On May 30, a criminal community of 17 people was discovered in Perm, which illegally legalized 200 migrants in the Russian Federation. The community operated in Moscow, the Perm Region, as well as in the Tula and Samara regions.
