Diplomat Baklanov called Kiev's decision not to take the bodies of the dead political

The decision of the Kiev regime not to take the bodies of the dead is political, diplomat Andrei Baklanov told Izvestia.

"It seems that this is a political decision, because, indeed, if there were any theoretical issues, the people who are charged with carrying out this procedure, they know each other well, they have contact numbers, they would have warned in advance about the difficulties," Baklanov said.

However, he continued, Kiev did not do this, which shows its unwillingness to carry out this humanitarian deal, given the tense financial situation and the need to pay compensation to the families of the victims.

Baklanov added that the situation once again confirms the incompetence of the Kiev regime.

"Even the humanitarian aspects, which are generally devoid of a political context, are not being implemented. What can we say about the more complex political exchanges that sometimes occur when a peace agreement is concluded," the diplomat concluded.

Earlier in the day, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said that the Ukrainian side had unexpectedly postponed indefinitely the reception of the bodies of dead soldiers and the exchange of prisoners of war. He clarified that Moscow has begun implementing a humanitarian action to transfer more than 6 thousand bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen to Kiev.

Diplomat Sergei Ordzhonikidze, speaking about Kiev's refusal to exchange prisoners and bodies, expressed the opinion in an interview with Izvestia that deception is a characteristic feature of the Ukrainian government. He added that Kiev also does not want to pay compensation to the relatives of the victims. Since 2023, the Kiev regime has announced payments of $257,000 for each victim, but so far no one in Ukraine has received these payments.
