Hamas threatened to kill the hostage if the IDF intends to release him.

The Palestinian movement Hamas is threatening to kill one of the Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, whose place of detention was approached by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). A statement on June 7 was issued by Abu Ubaida, a representative of the Izzaddin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the movement.
"The Israeli military has surrounded the place of detention of hostage Matan Tsangauker, and we confirm that they will not be able to free him alive. All responsibility for his death will lie with the Israeli army," his Telegram channel says.
The exact location of the prisoner is not given.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on June 5 that as a result of an operation in the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers had returned the bodies of two dead hostages. The IDF reported that the bodies were recovered from the Khan Yunis area. It is noted that the prisoners Judy Weinstein-Hagai and Gadi Hagai were killed on October 7, 2023, and then taken to the Gaza Strip. The deceased were a married couple. On May 21, Netanyahu announced that Israel was ready for a temporary cease-fire in the Gaza Strip for the sake of a hostage release deal.
