The monument to the founder of the USSR Vladimir Lenin in the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan will be moved to another place, and a flagpole will be installed at its location. This was reported to journalists on June 7 in the press service of the city hall.

"In the city of Osh, the monument to Lenin will be moved to another location. A flagpole will be installed in its place, as in Bishkek," RIA Novosti quoted the mayor's office as saying

The municipality added that such a step was taken in order to improve the overall "architectural and aesthetic appearance of cities," citing a number of Russian cities as an example, and also urged not to politicize the relocation of the monument.

According to open data, the height of the monument was about 25 m, which makes it one of the tallest monuments to Lenin not only in the region, but also in the world, adds "Газета.Ru ".

In January last year, a monument to the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was dismantled near the National Defense University in Astana. The monument is in temporary storage in one of the premises of the Ministry of Defense of the country, after which it will be moved to the museum building.
