Muscovites who have reached the pre-retirement age will not be assigned the status of a pre-pensioner. Dmitry Gusev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Control, told about this on June 7.

"Since January 1 of this year, the conditions for granting the status of a pre-pensioner have changed in Moscow. Currently, those who have turned 55 [women] and 60 [men] before December 31, 2024 can receive this status. But Muscovites who have reached this age since January 1, 2025, are not given the status," he told RIA Novosti.

Gusev noted that citizens who had previously received this statute would retain all support measures until retirement.

Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, spoke on June 3 about cases when Russians may stop receiving pensions. He noted that payments will stop if the person for whom they are intended does not come to the post office for her or does not accept money at home for six months.
