The governor of the Smolensk region announced the elimination of UAVs in the sky over the region

Electronic warfare (EW) has eliminated one Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the skies over the Smolensk region. This was announced on June 7 by the governor of the region Vasily Anokhin.

"At the moment, the electronic warfare systems of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have suppressed an enemy UAV near the city of Smolensk," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.

He clarified that there were no casualties or damage as a result of the incident. Specialists are working at the crash site of the UAV.

Due to UAV attacks, more than 190 settlements were left without power, water and communications.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the air defense forces had destroyed 82 Ukrainian UAVs in the skies over the regions of Russia. It was clarified that the drones were eliminated over the territories of the Orel, Tula, Bryansk, Belgorod, Ryazan, Kaluga, Kursk regions, as well as over the Moscow region.
