The calculation of a 122-millimeter towed D-30 howitzer of the motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces destroyed the control point for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on June 7 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry noted that the positions of the Ukrainian militants were discovered by operators of unmanned aerial vehicles. The AFU UAV control point was located in a destroyed building, and the stronghold was in a wooded area.

After obtaining the exact coordinates, the gunners aimed the gun and fired a series of accurate 122-millimeter high-explosive shells from a distance of up to 12 km. When the destruction of the targets was confirmed, the crew quickly disguised the gun and took refuge in the bunker.

"We mainly work on strong points, on lightly armored vehicles. We are working quickly and efficiently on the infantry group that is rolling in. We are not allowing it to gain a foothold," said Arsen Aliyev, commander of the howitzer artillery battery.

On June 6, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that UAV crews of the 18th Combined Arms Army from the Dnepr group of forces destroyed a boat with AFU personnel, which was identified by the UAV operator.
