The calculation of the Buk-M2 air defense system disrupted the attack of the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the South Donets direction

The calculation of the Buk–M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Vostok group of forces thwarted an attempt to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the South Donets direction in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The Russian Ministry of Defense showed relevant footage on June 7.

The ministry clarified that the complex operated in conjunction with a fire cover group, including anti-aircraft weapons and small arms, which provided protection for the Russian Armed Forces group from low-altitude enemy FPV drones.

A soldier with the call sign Iskra said that the complexes that fire at the detected targets have been finalized. In the Buk–M2 models, unlike the Buk–M1-2, there are no blind spots due to the 360-degree rotating tip.

The alleged target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike could be the rear infrastructure of Russian units, the Defense Ministry added.

On May 19, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of the Ukrainian multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) HIMARIS by the calculation of the Buk–2 air defense missile system. They were intercepted and destroyed. According to the ministry, the Buk–2 flies at altitudes from 15 to 22 km and develops a speed of 490 m/s.
