The Turkish Ministry of Health reported more than 14 thousand victims of the sacrifices.

In Turkey, more than 14 thousand people were injured on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday due to injuries sustained during the slaughter of sacrificial animals. This was announced on June 7 by the country's Minister of Health Kemal Memisoglu.

"On the first day of Eid al-Adha, a total of 14,372 people in 81 provinces contacted our medical institutions, including 1,049 in the capital Ankara, 753 in Istanbul, 655 in Konya, 634 in Gaziantep and 572 in Manisa, due to injuries sustained during the sacrifices," — he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The Minister also recalled that the relevant rituals should be performed by professionals.

On June 16, 2024, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Health, Fahrettin Koca, reported that on the first day of Eid al-Adha, about 16 thousand people were injured throughout the country, including 1,274 in Ankara, 840 in Istanbul and 416 in Izmir.
