Soldiers of the Vostok group of forces told about the liberation of Fedorovka in the DPR

Russian servicemen of the Vostok group of forces told Izvestia about the liberation of the village of Fedorovka, which is located near the western border of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and after which the Dnipropetrovsk region begins.

"We are moving on — we come to a mortar position. <...> We have taken several observation posts, prisoners," said the squad commander with the call sign Husky.

He also said that he saw how an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was used on a prisoner they found who was making contact with the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian military was very surprised by this, added the squad commander with the call sign Husky.

"It was not a classic assault, but rather a sabotage operation. Several experienced fighters stealthily entered the enemy's rear, destroying observation posts along the way. It was here that our people saw how modern analogues of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.)," emphasized Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin.

He added that the entire defense of the enemy is now based on drones, which is why the most difficult stage has come, since the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces need to approach as close as possible to the settlement occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and then rush into it with one throw.

"We went in small groups according to the postcard. That is, there was one group, and we divided into subgroups. The first two are me and my friend was walking. And then another three came to pick us up. There was another group ahead of my two. The enemy did not really engage in a shooting battle. Basically [he] fled," said a scout with the call sign Sokol.

The soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces noted that they were covered from the air during the offensive. So, the footage shows how the drone operator destroys the enemy's disguised weapon. Then there was an assault on a machine-gun emplacement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was destroyed by a Russian FPV drone.

"There was not much fire contact, since, according to the prisoners, there were mostly mobilized in the enemy's 141st brigade, all of them had assigned leaflets, all of them literally on the front line for a couple of months. Yes, within two days we continued advancing through the remaining sectors under enemy fire, but there were not many of them left. They passed, the observation posts were cleared, the settlement was taken," said the squad commander with the call sign Husky.

Taking the village under control allows us to reach the border of the republic with the Dnipropetrovsk region.

On June 6, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the village of Fedorovka in the DPR. It was noted that as a result of the actions of the Russian army, the Ukrainian militants lost more than 1,2 thousand military personnel, 34 vehicles, 21 armored combat vehicles, 18 field artillery guns, 13 electronic warfare (EW) stations, six ammunition depots and materiel.
