German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statements about support for the Kiev regime are cynical. This was announced on June 6 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

"Merz's statements in support of the actions of the Nazi Kiev regime, which deliberately targets peaceful cities of our country, sound particularly cynical," TASS quoted the chairman as saying.

He also noted that Russia has evidence of attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets. According to him, the Bundestag needs to assess Kiev's actions.

On June 5, Merz held talks with American leader Donald Trump in the Oval Office. During the meeting, the leaders of the two countries discussed many issues, including support for Ukraine. The New York Times, in turn, reported that the German Chancellor's visit to convince the US president of Washington's more active participation in protecting and supporting Ukraine had failed.
