Trump signed a decree on expanding the production of drones in the United States

US President Donald Trump has signed a decree aimed at expanding the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the United States, as well as increasing their exports. This was reported on the White House website on June 6.
"Trump has signed an executive order guaranteeing America's continued leadership in the development, commercialization and export of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), also known as drones," the statement said.
It clarifies that the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) should expand the possibilities of operating drones for commercial and public purposes, including flights outside the line of sight. The document also says that it should accelerate the development of unmanned aircraft technologies, including vertical take-off and landing systems, autonomous flights.
In addition, the head of the department was instructed to implement artificial intelligence tools to speed up the processing of applications for the operation of drones and publish an updated roadmap for the integration of civilian UAVs into the national airspace system.
On June 6, Trump also signed a decree on measures to develop supersonic aviation. This document should remove regulatory barriers to ensure the dominance of American companies in this field. Thus, the head of the FAA is ordered to lift the ban on flights of supersonic aircraft over land, establish a temporary certification standard based on noise levels and repeal other rules that prevent supersonic flights. He is also ordered to establish a certification standard for supersonic aircraft noise, taking into account societal acceptability, economic feasibility, and technological feasibility.
"Today, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to promote the development of supersonic aviation in the United States. <...> The order promotes the coordination of research, development, testing and evaluation of supersonic aviation through the National Council for Science and Technology under the leadership of the Office of Science and Technology Policy," the statement said.
The Wall Street Journal reported on May 29 that at least 1,2 thousand employees of the US FAA resigned of their own accord due to the increased frequency of plane crashes. According to the newspaper, the employees came to the decision to dismiss because of Trump's new requirements, according to which all employees of the department must be present in person.
