- The votes of candidates in the presidential election were mixed up in two Polish cities

Election commissions in two Polish cities, Minsk-Mazowiecki and Krakow— incorrectly calculated the results of voting in the presidential elections of the republic, the second round of which took place last Sunday. This was reported on June 6 by the local newspaper Interia Wydarzenia, citing local authorities.
Violations were recorded in the second round of the presidential election in Poland: in the city of Minsk-Mazowiecki, members of the precinct election commission No. 13 mixed up the results of the candidates. According to local authorities, the protocol mistakenly swapped the votes of the candidates: from the ruling "Civil Coalition" Rafal Trzaskowski and from the coalition "Law and Justice" Karol Navrotsky.
"In fact, Tshaskovsky received 611 votes (62.73%), and Navrotsky — 363 (37.27%)," the publication says.
As specified, the chairman of the commission admitted his mistake, but none of the nine other members of the commission reported the violation. The city authorities stressed that they are not responsible for the work of the commissions, they are formed and controlled by the election commission and appointed officials. The city provides only the technical part: premises, equipment and administrative support.
A similar mistake occurred in Krakow: at polling station No. 95, the voting was also framed with a distortion of the results — Navrotsky was mistakenly named the winner. The district election commission is currently investigating this situation.
In addition, as Martin Khmelnitsky, a representative of the Central Election Bureau, explained, only the Supreme Court can change the election results if official complaints are received. All documents, including ballots, can be seized by the courts, the prosecutor's office or the police as part of criminal proceedings.
According to Khmelnitsky, the responsibility for the correctness of the data lies with the precinct commissions, which include representatives of different parties. Despite reports of similar errors in several other polling stations, the election result remains the same: the gap between the candidates was more than 369,000 votes. Navrotsky won with 10,606,877 votes, while Tshaskovsky won with 10,237,286.
The results of the second round of the presidential election in Poland were reported earlier, on June 1. According to the results, Navrotsky won with 50.89% of the votes, while his rival, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the ruling Civic Coalition, Rafal Trzaskowski, scored 49.11%.
