Yermak announced Zelensky's plans to meet with Trump at the G7 summit
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plans to hold a meeting with American leader Donald Trump at the Group of Seven (G7) summit. This was announced on June 6 by the head of the office of the Ukrainian leader, Andrei Ermak.
"Our visit [to Washington] was preparation, among other things, for a meeting between Zelensky and Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada," Bloomberg quoted Ermak as saying.
It is specified that the G7 summit will be held from June 15 to June 17 in Canada.
The Politico newspaper reported yesterday that Zelensky was unable to establish a constructive dialogue with Trump even after completing a "communication course" with the head of the White House.
On February 28, during Zelensky's visit to the White House, a verbal altercation took place between Trump and Zelensky. The American president accused his Ukrainian counterpart of disrespecting the United States. The Ukrainian leader was also criticized by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance.
