Russia has patented a technology for equipping the orbital station with robots for its maintenance. This was announced on June 6 by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov during a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects with the participation of Head of State Vladimir Putin.

According to the deputy chairman of the government, it is necessary to continue work on the International Space Station (ISS), ensuring the transition to its own orbital station by 2030.

"It will become the world's first drone platform equipped with robots for its maintenance. This is a patented solution of the Russian Federation," said Manturov.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also added that the approval of the technology will allow it to be used for the Russian lunar program.

In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the space industry should be the flagship of national development and the Russian economy. He noted that cosmonautics should also be one of the driving forces behind the technological renewal of the economy and improving the quality of life of the country's citizens.
