The State Traffic Inspectorate announced continuous inspections in the regions
On Friday and next weekend, from June 6 to June 8, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to suppressing the facts of driving under the influence. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.
Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on roads in the Smolensk, Ulyanovsk, Tver, Kirov, Ivanovo, Samara, Ryazan and Penza regions, as well as in the Republic of Bashkortostan and other regions.
On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate traditionally reminds of the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. "Continuous" checks on Russian roads to identify drivers who have got behind the wheel in a state of intoxication are carried out by traffic police on an ongoing basis.
"We kindly ask citizens who see that the driver is driving in an inadequate condition and threatens the safety of other road users by their actions to report this to the police. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate will definitely take all necessary measures to respond to such reports," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry, told Izvestia.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entail the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability for these acts, the department emphasizes.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI), together with employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate, will begin conducting raids on taxi drivers on June 6 to verify the availability of certification.
