A new class of airspace for drones will be introduced in Russia

Russia will have a separate class H airspace for UAVs. This was announced on June 6 by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev.
"A draft government decree has been prepared on the establishment of a new class H airspace for flights. This class H will be installed by the end of this year," he said at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In addition, according to Saveliev, the authorities plan to install at least 20 drone ports — bases for take-off and landing and drone routing in automatic mode by the end of 2025. At the moment, 31 drone ports are already operating in 8 regions of the Russian Federation.
In addition, the deputy chairman of the government noted that the production of civilian drones in the Russian Federation has increased by more than 2.5 times over the past year compared to 2023. More than 3,200 civilian drones have already been produced in the country this year, the Deputy Prime Minister added.
On May 20, the Ministry of Transport announced the development of a draft federal law on unmanned vehicles. The initiative is being developed jointly with manufacturers of such machines and interested government agencies. The draft law for the introduction of unmanned vehicles on an ongoing basis will include concepts, criteria for distinguishing drones by automation levels, the rights and obligations of manufacturers, and requirements for dispatching.
