Most Russians found love in 2025 with the help of dating apps.

Online dating in Russia has ceased to be a rarity and has become an effective tool for finding a partner. 10-15 years ago, they were treated with skepticism, but today every fifth novel begins on the Internet. This was reported to Izvestia on June 7 by analysts of the Teamo relationship search service.
According to the service, in the first quarter of 2025 alone, 1.3 million users deleted their profiles, noting that they had found a match. This is 19% more than in the same period last year.
"We are seeing a steady increase in the number of users who find a partner on our platform. Online dating has become not just a trend, but a real way to build relationships," said Alyona Vinokurova, Director of Communications at Teamo.
Evgenia Ivanova, a psychologist and author of a blog about interpersonal relationships, noted that most of her clients who met online successfully build serious relationships. According to her, this is an impressive dynamic that shows that digital services have become a reliable tool for finding intimacy.
"I notice that most of my students who have met their partners on dating sites are successfully developing serious relationships. This is an impressive dynamic, which suggests that online dating has become a reliable tool for finding intimacy," the psychologist noted.
The key advantage of online dating is the opportunity to get to know a person in advance. "Correspondence allows you to discuss values and interests before the meeting, which saves time and increases security," Vinokurova added.
Experts agree: in 2025, the phrase "We met on the Internet" is no longer surprising.
Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that modern Russians are increasingly using psychological compatibility as the main criterion for choosing a partner. Thus, 88% of women and 82% of men check the psychotype of a potential life partner before starting a serious relationship.
