The girl found 9 years later in Sestroretsk on Friday, June 6, told Izvestia that she expected to escape from the hospital for just a few days in order to "reach out" to her mother.

According to the girl, her friend Yulia helped her escape, who provided her with a mobile phone. She had previously called her and explained the reasons for her decision.

"I'll run away for a few days for sure, so that at least if they find me later, they'll probably ask why I ran away. And then I'll explain everything to them, maybe they can at least get through to my mom," the girl recalled a conversation with her friend.

The girl borrowed outerwear and boots from a patient from another ward, then went to the apartment of her friend, with whom they lived until the fugitive came of age. Later, she moved in with her lover. However, as the girl explains, she constantly postponed the restoration of documents due to family circumstances.

Earlier, on June 5, the press service of the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region reported that a girl who disappeared nine years ago was found in the town of Sestroretsk in the kurortny district of St. Petersburg. It was clarified that the girl, born in 2000, disappeared in December 2016 due to family disagreements and unwillingness to undergo surgery.

In addition, a criminal case was opened against the minor due to the possible commission of a crime. Later, investigators were able to establish that the girl was offended by relatives who did not congratulate her on her birthday.
