On June 22-29, 2025, the international youth scientific and practical environmental forum "Earthlings" will be held for the first time, with teams of the best Russian and international students participating. The central part of the forum will be the intellectual battle of universities to solve strategic environmental problems using advanced technologies. The forum will be organized by the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region together with the All-Russian Ecological Movement Ecosystem and the Lomonosov innovation Cluster.

The tone at the forum will be set not only by environmentalists, but also by scientists and businesses. Students from more than 30 leading Russian and foreign universities, including from Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, will discuss technologies that serve to preserve and improve the world around them. The participants' developments are based on futurism and technology, through the prism of which the current eco-science will be considered. All teams will present their ideas, each of which is a potential project for social, environmental and technological entrepreneurship or a solution for implementation in industrial production and infrastructure, and the jury members will name the best whose projects will be able to become residents of new clusters of the Vorobyovy Gory Innovation Valley in the future or be implemented together by the forum's partners – industrial and technological companies. The forum will be attended by media stars and reputable scientists, and it will end on the central stage of the White June Festival in Arkhangelsk.

Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, called the forum a starting point for the global transformation of environmental policy and spoke about why "Earthlings" should get a residence permit in this particular northern region: "The Arkhangelsk Region is the Arctic region, the northernmost subject of the Russian Federation, and environmental issues here are particularly sensitive. The Arctic ecosystem is very fragile. Today, we see that all government policy and global interest are focused on the development of the Arctic. And this will be not only the logistical development of the Northern Sea Route, but also the industrial development of the new Arctic. This means that it is important for us to approach it carefully, but at the same time try to avoid demonizing industrial projects in the Arctic zone. When we talk about ecology, we are talking about the future. What we lay today, we will leave to future generations. We thought that the Arkhangelsk region was the best place to do this."

The governor recalled that the region is the birthplace of Mikhail Lomonosov, military shipbuilding, and our Russian tricolor. It was there that for the first time Peter, sailing his frigate into the White Sea, raised the current symbol of the Russian state. The first fortification, the naval fortress Novodvinsk— was built in Arkhangelsk. Peter then took the architect to St. Petersburg, where, according to the patterns of this fort, he built the Peter and Paul Fortress.

The key focus of the business program is on such important issues as: "The Northern Sea Route and its development technologies", "Environmental technologies of the cities of the future", "New energy and materials of the future" and "Nature for future generations", "Climate Management".

The Earthlings Forum, which will be held as part of the annual WHITE JUNE Festival, will last 7 days, from June 22 to 29. The teams will work in an innovative camp created from scratch in the Kholmogorsky district, in Lomonosov's homeland. In addition to the competition program, participants will be provided with a separate introduction to the beauty, history and industrial potential of the Arkhangelsk region, as well as the opportunity to see real white nights.

The event will be a new step in the development of environmental awareness. The best teams will receive funding and mentor support, including the opportunity to accelerate in the Lomonosov cluster. The organizers plan to show the achievements of young scientists during a large private event. Media representatives will be able to discuss key issues of environmental development with the speakers of the forum, get acquainted with the unique culture and nature of the Arkhangelsk region, as well as visit local enterprises.
