Matvienko called the relations between Putin and Pashinyan constructive

Relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan remain constructive, and there are no problems between them. This was stated on June 6 by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko during her visit to Yerevan.

"Nikol Vovayevich [Pashinyan] conveyed greetings to our president and emphasized that, despite some insinuations, he and Vladimir Vladimirovich have always had constructive, substantive relations and there are no problems in his relations with the president [of Russia]," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.".

She added that there is no crisis of trust between Russia and Armenia. According to Matvienko, both countries are interested in developing bilateral cooperation and cooperation on security issues.

On June 1, Putin and Pashinyan held telephone talks. During the conversation, some topical issues on the bilateral and regional agenda were discussed, as well as the mutual commitment to comprehensively strengthen relations of strategic partnership and alliance was confirmed.

Earlier, on May 21, at a press conference following a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, Lavrov noted that there are no signs of Ukrainization in Armenia in the form of oppression of the Russian-speaking population. Lavrov stressed that Armenia has not adopted laws that prohibit the Russian language and culture.
