Discussions related to Ukraine will be minimal during the NATO summit. This is done in order not to anger US President Donald Trump. This was announced by the Reuters news agency on June 6.

"It is expected that the officials organizing the NATO summit in The Hague this month will make it short and limit discussion of Ukraine," the publication says.

The meetings are also planned to be organized in such a way that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could somehow attend without provoking Trump. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader may come to the summit dinner. He will not be allowed to attend the main meeting.

According to the agency, it is also unknown whether support will be expressed for Ukraine. The measures taken are necessary in order not to anger Trump and provoke a repeat of the February scandal in the White House. At the same time, if Zelensky does not join the summit, then it will be "at least a PR disaster," according to Reuters.

Earlier, on May 27, The New York Times (NYT) reported that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte fears that the summit will be disrupted due to the conflict between Trump and Zelensky. According to the NYT, the American leader does not support his Ukrainian counterpart.
