Specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Moscow transport complex discussed the prospects for the development of electric transport and measures to prevent emergency situations. The strategic session was attended by Alexander Kurenkov, Head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport. This was reported by the Moscow Department of Transport.

Moscow is one of the world leaders in the development and use of electric transport. At the same time, all transport in the capital meets the strictest safety standards, the deputy mayor stressed.

"At a strategic session with the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, we discussed measures to prevent emergency situations related to the use of electric vehicles," Liksutov said.

He noted that "Moscow's order for the development of advanced technologies and the creation of unique rolling stock stimulates the development of industry." This makes it possible to achieve technological independence and increase new capacities for a complete transition to environmentally friendly and comfortable electric transport, Liksutov believes.

For example, electric buses, modern trams and metro trains are already transporting passengers in Moscow. In addition, Moskvich electric vehicles are produced in the capital, which are actively used in the work of city services. Moscow is also localizing and increasing production of a key element of electric transport — traction batteries.

The strategic session was held at the Center for Advanced Development of Moscow Transport. At the site near the center, the participants of the event were presented with modern equipment and its components: electric buses, electric vehicles, rechargeable batteries, utility vehicles, Russian Emergencies Ministry vehicles and much more.
