A resident of Omsk was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony for treason


The court sentenced a resident of Omsk to 12 years of imprisonment in a penal colony for high treason. This was announced on June 6 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Omsk region.
It is specified that the attacker collected information about military equipment, strategic facilities, management and employees of a defense enterprise in the city. In addition, a local resident contacted representatives of the Ukrainian special services to transfer the data in the future. According to the press service of the department, electronic means of communication were seized from the defendant, which confirm his involvement in the crime.
"By the verdict of the Omsk Regional Court, the defendant was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("High Treason") and sentenced to 12 years in prison in a high—security colony," the material says.
It is reported that the verdict has not yet entered into force.
Earlier, on June 4, in the Republic of Crimea, a court found a local resident guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. It was clarified that the man opposed a special military operation (SVO) and in 2022 began contacting representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
