Rescuers localized fires on an area of 190 thousand hectares in Transbaikalia

Nine forest fires were localized in the Trans-Baikal Territory during the day. Their total area is about 190 thousand hectares.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, fires have been localized in six municipalities. We are talking about Chita, Khilok, Kyrin, Tungokochen districts, as well as Sretensky district.
448 rescuers were fighting the fire. 39 pieces of equipment were used for extinguishing.

Earlier, on June 6, the Federal Forestry Agency said that the most difficult situation with forest fires had developed by the beginning of June in two regions: the Trans-Baikal Territory and Buryatia. There is a constant need to increase the number of people involved in extinguishing — almost 1.3 thousand specialists from the federal Reserve and neighboring regions have already been sent there.

In total, forest fires may engulf about 40 regions in seven federal districts in June, according to the forecast of the Aviation Security Service.
