The Russia-Moldova business dialogue will be held as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The participants will discuss the prospects for cooperation in the new geo-economic conditions and possible formats for deepening cooperation in trade, economic, industrial and humanitarian spheres.

"Despite the difficult political background, the demand of the business communities of Russia and Moldova for a pragmatic and substantive dialogue remains. The Forum provides an open platform for discussing initiatives that could contribute to the development of mutually beneficial ties and strengthen economic and humanitarian contacts," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

Against the background of the increasing global trend towards the formation of a multipolar architecture and the reconfiguration of international logistics, the Republic of Moldova can play an important role as a transport and economic hub in the Eurasian direction. However, the current political course of official Chisinau, focused exclusively on European integration, narrows the possibilities for the development of the eastern vector. Russian-Moldovan relations, which were previously characterized by stable dynamics, are experiencing a period of declining activity, including in the economy. Meanwhile, right now the importance of direct professional dialogue between representatives of business, the expert community and the civil sector is increasing.

"It is important to maintain a space for dialogue, including in conditions when political relations are under pressure. Russia has been and remains interested in Moldova remaining a stable, neutral and mutually oriented partner. Today, business, science, education and humanitarian ties can play a key role in shaping the foundations for future dialogue," emphasized Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova.

During the session, the participants will examine Moldova's potential in international trade, identify the most promising sectors for investment, discuss the problems faced by entrepreneurs and possible solutions. Special attention will be paid to the idea of creating an international free zone that can become a point of convergence between the interests of the EAEU and the EU.

The moderator will be Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova. Among the speakers are high–ranking representatives of state and political structures of Russia and Moldova.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from June 18 to 21, 2025.
