The central Bank announced a reduction in the cost of the CTP policy

In January-March 2025, the cost of a classic CTP policy for ordinary motorists decreased by 5.1% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 6.9 thousand rubles. This is reported in the review of key performance indicators of insurers, which was published by the Bank of Russia.
In total, 9.8 million classic CTP contracts (with a regular duration) were concluded in the first quarter of this year, including 868 thousand short-term policies, the average duration of which was 2.8 days (98.7% of them were taxi contracts). The average cost of short-term policies was 306 rubles. Taxi drivers issued them for an average of two days for 272 rubles.
In general, the average insurance premium in January-March decreased by 0.9 thousand rubles (to 7.4 thousand rubles), due to the appearance of short-term low-cost policies in March last year, as well as increased competition in the market.
The volume of CTP payments in the first quarter decreased slightly to 51.7 billion rubles year-on-year due to a reduction in the number of insured events. The average amount of payment under the classic CTP policy of an ordinary car owner was 105.3 thousand rubles, which is 15.8% higher than the value for the first quarter of 2024.
At the same time, the volume of casco payments increased almost 1.5 times in January-March. This was facilitated by a change in the cost of repairs against the background of an increase in the cost of auto parts, as well as an increase in the number of insurance payments following the influx of previously concluded contracts. The average insurance payment for car insurance policies in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 14.6% to 212 thousand rubles.
On May 28, Evgeny Ufimtsev, president of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), said that checking the availability of CTP using camera cameras in automatic mode is expected to start operating in full from November 1 without conducting experiments.
On May 23, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to improve measures to combat drivers who drive vehicles without valid CTP policies by November 1.
