Experts have dispelled five myths about investing in the summer

The financial market no longer freezes in the summer — this is a myth. Funds, algorithms, and private investors work continuously. Experts from Sberinvestments told Izvestia about this on June 6.
The second misconception associated with investing in the summer is that it is better to wait out the warm season outside the market. But experts note that it is difficult to predict the exact moment of exit and entry in advance, as the situation can be changeable.
"Historically, those who stick to strategy and stay in the market win more often than those who try to guess the right moment," the analysts explained.
The third common myth is "sell in May." This rule worked when there was still no high-frequency trading and round-the-clock news, and by the summer the market was "falling asleep", but now it can be weak and active in any months.
The fourth mistake of investors is the belief that there are no interesting ideas in the summer. However, as experts emphasize, during such periods, unusual opportunities often appear.
"While some market participants are taking a break, others are looking for entry points on corrections, catching the moment when the information noise becomes quieter. Companies also publish results, share plans, and sometimes adjust their dividend policy," experts say.
Finally, the fifth illusion in the financial market is that all dividends have already been paid by May. This used to be the case, experts explain, but now some companies have postponed payments to June-August, meaning the summer dividend season has become full-fledged.
Ruslan Pichugin, an independent expert in the field of private investment, told Izvestia on June 3 that in the current economic situation it is especially important to approach investments carefully. Instability in foreign markets has made bank deposits relevant again, not only as a way of saving, but also as a moderately profitable instrument, he stressed.
